Purchasing/Business Development Manager Flexible Packaging

Our client is a well-established company operating in the flexible packaging sector, with a strong focus on waste management, recycling, and upcycling initiatives. They are currently seeking a candidate with proven expertise in procuring flexible packaging materials, including various grades of plastics. The role will primarily involve sourcing materials from suppliers based in Italy.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this Purchasing/Business Development role will possess a strong understanding of flexible packaging, with particular expertise in plastic materials. They should have in-depth knowledge of the industry landscape, including key producers of flexible plastic packaging, converters and printers, as well as end-users of these materials. This role demands both strategic sourcing capabilities and the ability to build and maintain relationships across the supply chain.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in trading/purchasing is essential.
• Previous experience within the industry.
• Quick learner who can think on their feet and use their own initiative.
• Confident user of MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment - working to deadlines and ability to react to short notice changes to suit operational requirements
