Blown Film Extrusion (Varex machines preferred)

We are currently partnering with a well-established European manufacturer of flexible packaging, recognized for its high-quality, innovative and sustainable solutions across international markets, seeking a senior technical expert in blown film extrusion to support the optimization of high-performance production lines.

We are open to external consultants, interim professionals, or fixed-term contract experts who bring deep, hands-on process expertise.

This opportunity is designed for a highly specialized senior profile looking for a flexible, long-term technical collaboration with real operational impact.

Your Role

Act as a trusted on-site technical advisor, working closely with plant teams to diagnose issues and implement practical, data-driven improvements in manufacturing performance, including:

• Scrap and waste reduction through process optimization and root-cause analysis

• Machine efficiency and OEE improvement, identifying losses and unlocking hidden capacity

• Setup and changeover time reduction using best practices and standardized methods

• Film quality, consistency, and process stability, ensuring repeatable and reliable output

• Bubble control and overall process robustness to minimize downtime and variability

This is a highly hands-on, plant-floor role, focused on solving real production challenges, coaching operators and technicians, and delivering measurable operational improvements.

Technical Background – What We’re Looking For

Mandatory

·        - Strong, proven hands-on experience in blown film extrusion

·        - Deep process understanding (materials, bubble dynamics, die, cooling, winding)

·        - Track record of troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on industrial lines

Strong Preference

·        - Direct experience with Varex blown film lines

·        - Experience working with Windmöller & Hölscher equipment

Also Accepted

·        Senior-level experience on other high-end blown film extrusion machines
(OEM background or equivalent plant exposure)

🚫 Profiles limited to cast film, sheet extrusion, or generic Lean / CI consulting will not be considered.

Ideal Profile

·        - 10+ years of experience in blown film extrusion

·        - Background such as:

o   Senior Process Engineer

o   Production / Plant Manager

o   OEM Technical Specialist

·        - Comfortable working independently with production and engineering teams

·        - Pragmatic, hands-on, and results-driven

·        - Consultant, freelancer, interim expert, or semi-retired professional welcome

Location & Travel

·        - Europe-based role

·        - Willingness to travel to Cordoba, Spain on a monthly basis
